We know that many families in our community rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to help keep their children healthy and well-fed. If your family is facing a change to your SNAP benefits soon, we want to assure you that help is still available.
Food insecurity can impact a child’s health and development, and we are committed to supporting all of our Kids First Pediatrics families during this transition. Please know that you are not alone, and there are local resources designed to help North Carolina families access nutritious food.
Here are two essential resources we recommend:
Feeding America is a nationwide network of food banks that can connect you with local pantries, soup kitchens, and mobile food distributions near you. This is often the fastest way to get direct food assistance.
Findhelp.org allows you to search for free or reduced-cost social services by zip code, including food assistance, housing help, utility payment assistance, and more specific programs for North Carolina residents.
Your child’s health and nutrition are our top priority. Please utilize these links today to ensure your family continues to have the resources you need. If you have any concerns about your child’s nutrition or well-being, please do not hesitate to discuss them with your Kids First Pediatrics provider.
