Marquita Lyons-Smith, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC
Marquita Lyons-Smith is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who treasures working with children. Her passion for helping children started as a teenager where she worked as a CNA on the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Duke University. Upon completing her undergraduate degree in nursing from NCCU, she transferred to the NICU to continue providing care for children. Despite being a diehard Carolina fan, she earned her Master’s degree from Duke University. Most of Marquita’s spare time is consumed with Doctoral studies emphasizing on pediatric obesity, but she still finds time to cheer on the Tarheels and Panthers. Let’s hope she isn’t disappointed this season!
Marquita and her husband Anthony have two children- a son and a daughter. Her daughter is a miniature Marquita which makes life very interesting, but the pair understands each other perfectly. Her son is the family’s go to IT expert, and although young, is very good at computer repairs; unfortunately, he charges by the hour! Marquita and her husband love to laugh, and their children sure do fill their lives with laughter. Marquita has been part of the Kids First team since 2012, and looks forward to serving you and your precious children. Marquita sees patients in our Raleigh location.
